Research at Gollis University
At Gollis University we are committed to ensuring the highest standards of research integrity. In keeping with our commitment to support staff and students in their ambitions to undertake excellent research, we have adopted and operate under a framework of research governance policies and procedures, instituted, developed and enforced by the Gollis University Research Institute (GURI) and the Gollis University Academic Board.
The Gollis University Research Institute (GURI), chaired by Dr. Brendon J. Cannon, and reporting to Gollis University Academic Board is responsible for the development and monitoring of research governance policy and procedures.

In order to provide support to researchers and to maintain integrity in the research and scholarly activities of its staff, Gollis University (GU), in coordination with the Gollis University Research Institute (GURI), has instituted a number of policies that provide a foundation for research practice at the University and promote strict research integrity. These policies shall apply to all University research activities. They specify the research infrastructure, policies, procedures, standards and ethical practices of the University, for any member of staff who undertakes research. They include a Gollis University Research Ethics Checklist, available here (insert hyperlink). This must be filled out by all GU students and staff who will perform research under the auspices of GU, in part or in whole.
Promoting Research Integritys
All researchers at Gollis University shall strive to follow the best research practices honestly, accountably, openly and fairly in the search for, and in the dissemination of knowledge. In addition, Gollis University researchers shall follow the requirements of applicable institutional policies and professional or disciplinary standards and shall comply with applicable laws and regulations. At minimum, Gollis University researchers are responsible for the following:
- Providing true, complete and accurate information in funding applications and related documents and representing themselves, their research and their accomplishments in a manner consistent with the norms of the relevant field.
- Ensuring that others listed on a funding application have agreed to be included.
- Completing the GURI Research Ethics Checklist (mandatory) and strictly following the guidelines therein (insert hyperlink).
- Using a high level of rigor in proposing and performing research; in recording, analyzing and interpreting data; and in reporting and publishing data and findings.
- Keeping complete and accurate records of data, methodologies and findings in accordance with the applicable funding agreement, institutional policies and/or laws, regulations, and professional or disciplinary standards in a manner that will allow verification or replication of the work by others.
- Referencing, and where applicable, obtaining permission for the use of all published and unpublished work, including data, source material, methodologies, findings graphs and images.
- Including as authors, with their consent, all those and only those who have materially or conceptually contributed to, and share responsibility for, the contents of the publication or document, in manner consistent with their respective contributions and authorship of relevant publications.
- Acknowledging, in addition to authors, all contributors and contributions to the research, including writers, funders and sponsors.
- Appropriately managing any real, potential or perceived conflict of interest in accordance with Gollis University (GU) policy on conflict of interest.
- Providing true, complete and accurate information on documents related to expenditures from grant or award accounts.
